Aviation Technical Publications Specialist

Reports to: Manager of Technical Publications


Employment Status: Full-time


Summary/Objective: The Technical Publications Specialist - Database is responsible for maintaining the departmental database.



  • Receive revisions and temporary revisions from aircraft manufacturers, vendors and Camtronics Group manuals.
  • Update database with revision information.
  • Maintain revision records in database, and contact manual resources who do not return acknowledgement in required timeframe.
  • Update electronic manuals when a new revision is issued and maintain obsolete manual database for reference.
  • Perform monthly audit on electronic manuals to maintain current revisions.
  • Ensure manuals needed for all new components are located and submitted to engineering for capability confirmation in a timely manner.
  • Acquire CMMs as required by reaching out to resources and develop relationships with OEMs.
  • Assist other Technical Publication Specialists as needed, which may include review of IPLs (Illustrated Parts List) and adding P/Ns into our QAVW software database to support production.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.


Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 40 lbs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00.


Travel: No travel required.


Required Education and Experience: Associates Degree or equivalent work experience; experience using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office programs. Minimum two years’ experience working with detailed digital / hard copy documentation recommended but not required.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Intermediate internet skills; Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work under deadlines. Good customer service skills.
